Smart Land Governance: Towards a Conceptual Framework

Global environmental governance (GEG) is one of the world’s major attempts to address climate change issues through mitigation and adaptation strategies. Despite a significant improvement in GEG’s structural, human, financial capital, global commons are decaying at an unprecedented pace. Among commons, land has largest share GEG. Land use change, which rooted increasing populations urbanization, role greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As response, and, consequently, good governance, have arisen as normative concepts emerging from series success factors (notably economic development, conservation, social justice) achieve greater sustainability.
